Welcome to Chris and Shannon! We’re excited to welcome our newest neighbors, Chris Cipolletti and Shannon Arrington who live at the intersection of Highland and Wasatch Drive. Chris was raised in Pennsylvania and Shannon in Alabama. They met after high school when they both moved to Colorado to enjoy the Rocky Mountains and attend college. Shannon loves Chris’ adventurous spirit, kind heart, strong work ethic, and commitment to their marriage and daughter Maz. Chris admires Shannon’s natural goodness, willingness to help anyone, and fun-loving nature. Chris has always loved skiing and worked his way up in the ski industry from lift operator, snowmaking manager, and trail crew manager to snow surfaces manager. Shannon has always enjoyed all kinds of sports and went into psychology and counseling for her university studies. She now works to support victim services for the State of Utah. When asked what they like about Mountain Green they said, “Pretty much everything! We loved it from day one. We love the established neighborhood with mature trees and yards, the rural feel, and our morning walks. Everyone is so nice, polite, and welcoming! We feel very lucky and fortunate to be here.”

Community Trunk or Treat. The neighborhood good times keep rolling. On Halloween, goblins and ghosts gathered for some spooky fun and treats at our annual Community Trunk or Treat gathering.

A Bountiful Harvest. Deb Ogden has more apples than she can use this year. If you’d like some free apples, call or text her at 801-690-0231. Feel free to leave a message if Deb doesn't answer.

Spotlight on Sophie. This is Sophie, a two-year old yellow lab. She belongs to Sandy and Kelvin Feik who live at the intersection of Gordon Creek Circle and Wasatch Drive. Happily for us, they’ve just returned to our neighborhood. They got Sophie as a pup from a litter their niece’s lab had. She loves the water and loves to play fetch, especially if it involves swimming. She chomps on the water as she swims through after the toy!  She’s a wonderful playmate to their one-year old grandson, Roman; she snuggles with him and returns toys to him, and calms him and makes him giggle. And she’s a wonderful companion to the whole family!

A Little History: Did You Know?  The Highlands began in the 1960s with dirt roads and only a few trees other than scrub oak. Here’s an old photo looking west over Davis Street in the foreground and Sierra Avenue in the upper right.
