Springtime in Mountain Green. Our neighbors often mention how grateful they are for the natural beauty and four seasons in Mountain Green. Here's a short poem to welcome the new season: The snow melts, streams run free, seasons change, so beautifully. The world awakens, green and bright. Springs's gentle touch, a wondrous sight. The birds sing loud, the flowers bloom, Spring's arrival, chases winter's gloom.

Neighbor Spotlight.
Welcome home Sam and Ann Gappmayer! Sam and Ann return to their home on Gordon Creek Circle this week. They spent the last month 18 months living in the Philippines. Ann said that at first they really weren't sure about being sent to the Philippines as missionaries, but now they are so very glad they did. "I can't put into words how this experience has both blessed us and helped us grow... We have loved being here. We are amazed by the people here, their kindness, their resilence, their creativity in making do with what they have and making up their own rules when driving. We are still finding new things to marvel over every day." Welcome home to the Gappmayer's!!!

Memorial Day at the Highlands Cemetary. Next weekend there will be two events on May 26. Pet Spotlight. These are Thomas, Caty, and Arlo Gappmayer (people) and their dogs Kasha and Little. They on Gordon Creek. Little is a 13-year-old Corgi and Terrier mix, and Kasha is an 8-year-old Pit Bull and Terrier mix. They are both rescues.  Little is their six-month-old son, Arlo’s, best friend. She stays beside him when he is sleeping and most of the time when he is awake. She is very sweet and patient with him, including letting him grab her by the muzzle. Both dogs love carrots and cucumbers!  They also love to ride in the car and love to go on hikes. They love the trails in our hills and also Art Nord off Old Snow Basin Road and Ice Box off Ogden Canyon. The dogs can be off leash on hikes because they always stay close by, and they always come even closer when they are called. The family has to spell “h-i-k-e” if they aren’t going right away so the dogs won’t be overly excited for too long. But now the dogs are learning what the spelling means!

Chipper Days May 1-18.
This weekend is the last chance to participate in Chipper Days. This is an opportunity to remove dead tree limbs and overgrown loiage. Drag it to the street to it can be chipped and hauled away. This reduces wildfire risk in our community. For more information and to log your hours: https:/mgfpd.org/chipper-days.
