Happy Summer 2024!   What a blessing it is to live in “Mountain Green, the Beautiful.”  Hoping you have a wonderful and safe summer – and that you enjoy some summer fun with family, friends, and neighbors. Get Ready: Summer block parties are coming soon! Welcome to Cameron and Aysia Layton.  The Layton’s are our newest “Highlanders” who now live on Gordon Creek Circle. Aysia was raised in San Antonio and did her senior year of high school in Fiji. Cameron was raised in Kaysville and graduated from Davis High. After high school, they both served LDS missions in San Bernadino. Cameron then went to flight school in Arizona, and Aysia went to BYU-Hawaii in social work. They came to Utah, fell in love, and were married in 2021.  They then moved to Hawaii where Cameron continued to get his flight hours as an “Island Hopper.”  Aysia jumped into a masters degree and graduated in social work the same month she had her first baby (Ivy) in April 2024.  Cameron now flies for SkyWest and Aysia wor

Good Times at the Highlands BBQ 2024! The evening weather was perfect for our annual neighborhood BBQ and we had another record turn-out!  Thanks to everyone for coming, bringing side dishes, or helping behind the scenes.  It was a great time to gather, say hello to neighbors, meet new friends, and catch up with old friends. More BBQ pics below... Happy Anniversary to Earl & Carole McCain! This week Earl & Carole celebrated a lot of 6’s and 2’s.  They were married on 6/2 in 1962 and it was their 62 nd anniversary! Carole was raised in Idaho, Oklahoma, Oregon, Colorado, and met Earl on a blind date while a student at what is now the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). After their first date, Earl couldn’t remember Carole’s name, but he did remember where she was doing her student teaching and tracked her down.  They married in 1962 and bought their first house in Colorado for $12,000. They had two children (Matt and Amy) while Earl was working on his doctorate in Education
