Welcome to Cameron and Aysia Layton. The Layton’s are our newest “Highlanders” who now live on Gordon Creek Circle. Aysia was raised in San Antonio and did her senior year of high school in Fiji. Cameron was raised in Kaysville and graduated from Davis High. After high school, they both served LDS missions in San Bernadino. Cameron then went to flight school in Arizona, and Aysia went to BYU-Hawaii in social work. They came to Utah, fell in love, and were married in 2021. They then moved to Hawaii where Cameron continued to get his flight hours as an “Island Hopper.” Aysia jumped into a masters degree and graduated in social work the same month she had her first baby (Ivy) in April 2024. Cameron now flies for SkyWest and Aysia works at Catalyst Behavior Center helping families who have children with autism. Cameron appreciates how Aysia is so friendly and resourceful. Aysia loves how Cameron is incredibly patient and deeply thoughtful. Cameron believes it’s important to find quiet moments in life to tune into what’s most important. Aysia feels it is important to focus on the good and find gratitude. We welcome the Layton’s to the neighborhood and we’re excited to get to know you!
History of Morgan County: Did You Know? Back in the day, Morgan County had its own ZCMI store.
Spotlight on Momo and Rava and Pabu. They live with the Cox family at 6182 Highland. Momo is 14 years old. She’s a light grey floofy long haired cat. She’s absolutely adorable with bright green eyes, a fluffy tail, and a sweet disposition who joined the Cox family when their other kitty passed. Rava and Pabu are twinners and biological sisters who love Momo. They are 10 years old but are still called the babies (not sure what breed they are)! Rava has more striking markings than Pabu, but sometimes it’s hard to tell them apart. They both have green eyes and were rescued from a foster human - found with another sister in a field in Tooele. It was “buy one get one free”… so the Cox family just had to take 2! Thank goodness Dave is tolerant of the kitty obsession. Pabu has life long anxiety still after 10 years, but Rava is much more outgoing and friendly. She’s my spirit animal and helps us all when we have a bad day. All 3 kitties are completely indoor cats. None of them are declawed so we’re happy about that! Unfortunately they all got a disease called Stomatitis of the mouth. Eventually, after many other treatments, they all had to have their teeth removed. They are all fat and happy now! They are so good and homebodies just like us so they never try to escape. We love them so much ❤️
Caught on Camera. Our neighbor on Weber Drive, John Waycullis, revealed another one of his many talents when he remodeled this antique "Go Cart" which has been passed down through the family. It was originally owned by William Haines of Canton Ohio (pictured here) who was an antique car connoisseur of the highest order. William passed it down to John's wife Sue -- and it is now on it's way to William's great-grandson, Weston, who will be learning how to manually shift this tiny antique car well before he gets his drivers license.
