December is Here!

Spotlight on Boston Steed! We are thrilled to highlight one of our wonderful neighbors, Boston Steed. (Guess who Boston is from this picture of the Gordon Creek block party.) Boston resides in the basement apartment in Bret and Pam Smith’s home and has been a part of our community for the past 6 months. She hails originally from Southern Utah. She has worked for America First Credit Union for the last four years. Boston is an accomplished seamstress. She takes sewing work on if you have mending or sewing needs. Those who attended the Gordon Creek block party can attest to her amazing baking talents. Whether it’s her dinner rolls or a delicate pastry, her culinary creations are sought after far and wide. Boston loves the beauty of nature and has loved walking the streets and trails of our neighborhood. Whether it is the glistening snow on Green Rock trail or hawks swirling the skies, she stands in awe of God’s creations. Boston is a gentle soul with a friendly disposition. If you haven’t had the chance to meet her yet, take a moment to introduce yourself. Boston, we’re so glad to have you here – welcome to the neighborhood!

Highlands Neighborhood Christmas Breakfast. Don’t miss the final get-together of the year. Enjoy our Christmas breakfast celebration on Saturday, December 7th at 9:00am. You’re welcome to bring a can of food for the Morgan Food Bank.

Mountain Green Living Nativity.  Make plans to join the annual Living Nativity hosted by Morgan Valley Church in Mountain Green. This event will take place on the evenings of Sunday, December 8th and Monday, December 9th, inside the Scotsman Center located across from the airport. While this event is indoors, you will need to bundle up for the possibility of waiting in line and for enjoying refreshments afterwards in the outdoor tent.

Special Needs Nativity Pageant. For over a decade, a very special Nativity Pageant “Come Let Us Adore Him” has been presented in Morgan Valley by special angles with various special needs from Morgan County. The pageant will be held on December 12 at 7:00pm at the Morgan High School auditorium. This may be the best event of the year. Beautiful and tender.

Spotlight on Sugar and Nacho. They live with the Stiennon family on Highland Drive. They are both Boxers. Sugar is an eleven-year-old female, and Nacho is a seven-year-old male. They got Sugar from a breeder in Oregon. They all sat on the floor to see the puppies, and Sugar crawled right into Cynthia’s arms — she chose them!  They named her Sugar because they’d been listening to the song, Oh Honey Sugar, on the radio as they were driving to get her. She’s been the easiest dog they’ve ever had; she was potty trained in 4 days and learns new commands and directions almost instantly. They got Nacho from a breeder in Washington. He’s also very smart and learned to get out of his crate within a few days. They are both extremely sweet - not a mean bone in either of them. They love kids and love to snuggle with them as well as their parents. They love to be with their family - on walks, in the car, biking, hiking, and skiing. Sugar loves to be by the windows and watch the birds, and Nacho wants to play with the turkeys.  For treats they both love  the dehydrated chicken treats from Trader Joe’s. They are always so happy to be around their family, and their joy is contagious!
