Special Issue: Celebrating Those Who've Moved In Over the Last 3 Years!

One of the greatest joys of living in the Highlands is the sense of community we share. Over the past three years, we’ve been fortunate to welcome almost 40 new individuals, couples and families into the neighborhood. How enriching this has been for all of us!

Our new neighbors have brought fresh energy, incredible background experiences, and warm friendships into our lives. They have quickly become part of the fabric of our neighborhood, enriching our block parties, strengthening our bonds, and making our community even more vibrant. We appreciate their presence and look forward to the memories we will create together.

Thanks for a Fun (and sunny) Summer Bash! After a stormy, rainy afternoon, the clouds parted – and the sun came out just in time for our Highlands get-together at the park last Saturday. Farewell to Ken Clark. We will miss Ken who passed away on March 27, 2024. Ken was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was quick-witted and always good with a story to make you laugh. Ken was a talented manufacturing engineer and used his design and practical know-how both at work and at home. He was always there to help a neighbor and serve his community. He will be missed, especially by his family and his “little slice of heaven” wonderful wife, Chris. Spotlight on Mari Hersh.   Mari was raised in the beautiful city of Jaen in southern Spain. Jaen is known for its production of olive oil and its beautiful castles, cathedrals and fortresses. After high school Mari went to college and then into clothing design. She came to Utah for a month to do genealogy and after a few trips back and forth from Spain to Utah she ended up staying in Utah.  Mari has worked in many positions over the years including as a legal translator.  Mari is the proud mother of her two boys, Danny and Chris, and the grandmother of 5 grandchildren who she adores.  She has also volunteered extensively in the Scouting program and at one point flew in a helicopter so that her scouts could get their flying merit badge. Mari is also an amazing holiday hostess and enjoys decorating during the holidays. Mari and her husband Bruce live on Sierra Avenue.
