Spotlight on Bret & Barbara Martin.
Bret & Barbara recently moved to the Highlands on Uintah Street. We now have a perfect dozen families who live on Uintah. Barbara was raised in New Jersey and Bret was raised in Colorado. How they ended up together is a tender story. Barbara and her first husband owned a construction business and they had two children together. Bret and his first wife also had two children and Bret worked as a luxury resort manager. Tragically both of their spouses passed away while their children were young. But they moved forward. Bret continued working in the resort industry and Barbara took over the construction business. Both continued raising their children who happened to go to the same school where they lived in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Then Heaven smiled upon them and they met, dated, married, and brought their four school-aged children together. They both expressed how grateful they are for finding one another. Bret loves how resilient, outgoing, driven, outdoorsy, loyal, and extremely family-oriented that Barbara is. Barbara loves how persistent, patient, willing, and grounded that Bret is. She appreciates how he is the perfect gentleman for her. Bret believes it is so important to be kind to others and support their interests over your own. He’s learned this will get you a long way toward living a fulfilling life. Barbara believes it is important to not sweat the small stuff and have faith in yourself. She’s learned the value of being positive and sending out good vibes to those around you. When their kids were grown, they decided to go West. So a while ago they started looking in Idaho, California, Montana, Colorado, Oregon, and Utah for a place with natural scenic beauty, outdoor recreation, skiing, golfing, and close to an airport to visit their four kids who are spread out in California, Minnesota, New Jersey, and South Carolina. They said they finally found the perfect spot in Utah and absolutely love it here in Mountain Green. “We are very excited to be living here in Mountain Green and feel very fortunate to have found such a special place. We both love golf, hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, and have recently joined the Ogden Country Club. We hope to meet new friends and create a fantastic life for our remaining years.”  Welcome to the Martins! We’re lucky to have such wonderful new neighbors on Uintah Street.

Farewell to Myrna Boggess. We will miss Myrna who passed away on May 10, 2024. Myrna was a wonderful neighbor who, with her husband Kent, raised her four sons and one daughter here in the Highlands. She was a dear friend to so many and a community leader who loved family, nature, flowers, animals, decorating, sewing, and having fun with grandchildren. Thanks for all the great memories and the impact you had on those around you. For more about Myrna, Click Here.

Northern Highlands Block Party.
The neighborhood good times keep rolling. Neighbors on Woodland Drive, Weber Drive, Meadow Circle, and the north end of Highland Drive gathered together for dinner and a celebration of springtime. It was fun for neighbors to enjoy good food and one another’s company! Thanks to our block captains Reva & Craig Taylor and to the party hosts, Sue & Craig Brenchley. See pics below...
