Special Issue: Neighbors & Friends 2024. 

This special issue celebrates the friendships that are being built in our community. Thanks to all our good neighbors who enrich our lives and enrich this beautiful place we call home. 

And thanks to our 10 block captains who helped organize block parties this year! “Of all possessions a friend is most precious” (Herodotus).

    Happy New Year! As we begin a new year, we naturally pause to reflect on the past year. In 2023 we came  together and helped  one another during a crazy snowy winter and spring thaw. We celebrated new neighbor move-ins, new baby births, and several weddings. We mourned the loss of neighbors who passed away. We enjoyed meeting friends and neighbors at our annual get-togethers:  Backyard BBQ, Summer Bash, Trunk-or-Treat, Christmas Breakfast, and wonderful block parties. Thanks for a Fun (and sunny) Summer Bash! After a stormy, rainy afternoon, the clouds parted – and the sun came out just in time for our Highlands get-together at the park last Saturday. Thanks to those who organized our annual event and to all our neighbors who brought their smiles and tasty dishes to share. A good time was had by all, and we were grateful the weather didn’t turn out similar to the hurricane-like storm we had a couple of years ago!  (See more Summer Bash pics below.) Farewell to Ken Clark. We will miss Ken who passed away on March 27, 2024. Ken was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was quick-witted and always good with a story to make you laugh. Ken was a talented manufacturing engineer and used his design and practical know-how both at work and at home. He was always there to help a neighbor and serve his community. He will be missed, especially by his family and his “little slice of heaven” wonderful wife, Chris.
