Backyard BBQ this Saturday! All are welcome to join the annual neighborhood gathering this Saturday, June 28 at 5:30 p.m. It will be held at the Winn's home on 6444 Davis Street. You're welcome to bring a side dish, dessert, drinks, chips, appetizers, or any other food items. You may want to invite a friend or neighbor. Hope to see you there!

Happy Summer! The beauty of Mountain Green in summer is unsurpassed. Enjoy the longest evenings of the year. 😊

Our Friend Fay.
Our dear friend Fay Hansen is moving closer to family. Fay is pictured on the right with her friend Betsy Macken. She has lived in the Highlands for exactly 50 years - moving here in 1975. You'll recognize Fay, who faithfully did her daily walk around the streets of the Highlands and who worked regularly in her yard. Often, it was Fay versus the pine trees dropping their cones and needles in front of her home on Highland Drive. Fay is a dear friend and a kind, caring, and humble human being. She will be missed here in our neighborhood, but you can write her a note at Covington Senior Living, 1925 North State Street, #38, Orem, UT 84057. We wish Fay all the best. We love you, Fay!

Marriage Celebrations! We are happy to celebrate the weddings of our Highlands friends: Emily Ferrin to Ryan Barton, Jaxon Fowers to Kambree Adams, Ian Schlieder & Caroline Cobb (picture forthcoming), and Jaxon McCullough to Alison Low. Best wishes to each of you in this new chapter of your lives.

Spotlight on our Highlands Block Captains. We want to recognize and thank our wonderful Block Captains. Last year, all ten blocks held get-togethers. Some were in the summer and others in the fall. We heard many comments about how much people appreciated our Block Captains for organizing an opportunity for neighbors to come together and enjoy one another’s company and get to know each other better. We are grateful for our terrific Block Captains!

Passing of Oliver Brockbank. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Oliver John Brockbank, grandson of Charlotte Widdison (former Highlands neighbor), son of Wyatt and Shayna Brockbank (former Highlands neighbors), and brother to Samuel, Eli, and Ruby. Our world is dimmer for the loss of our young knight in his shining armor. He was a fierce and loyal friend and protector to those smaller and weaker than him. His gentle nature brought so many who could see his shining light to seek his company and the joy he would bring. We honor his brave fight against the darkness he held at bay, but it is with sorrow that he succumbed on Monday June 16th. His family aches with the loss of their gentle giant. This unexpected loss carries not only an unbearable personal toll, but an unexpected financial burden as well. Those who would like to donate can give directly via Venmo: @Wyatt-Brockbank. Link: https://account.venmo.com/pay?recipients=Wyatt-Brockbank. It is a well-worn axiom that no parent should have to bury their child, but so many have. We love and miss you, Oliver. We love, and are here to support you, Brockbank Family. The funeral service will be July 2nd at 5:00pm at the Highlands Church.
